Jesus declares that our job description is to make disciples and that it is His his job to build His church. We often mistake our job as building the church, when if we only make disciples we might find that Jesus is doing his job as well.
Dallas Willard once said, “Every church ought to ask two questions. What is our plan for making disciples, and is that plan working?” Our churches in the West exists in the context of a consumer culture, one that is intent on making radical individualistic disciples of materialism. The challenge in every age is how do we make disciples who are being transformed by Christ into his likeness?
Transform Southwark is committed to sharing our resources and learnings together to fulfil this part of the great commission, to collaborating as we wrestle with biblical discipleship in the 21st century.
